Stomping Grounds…

DLR / Sports / / 36 Comments

A big shout out to all at WWE. Thank you so much for the invitation last Saturday night. Please accept the following tribute…

Spread the news
The boys are back in town
Gonna get rite back to my stomping grounds.
Ring the bell
Wanna hear that sound
Gotta get rite back to my stomping grounds.

You can tell by the way I use my walk
I’m a master of the standing Injun
Figure 4 death lock.
Moonsault off the top rope;
It’s a grudge match move I use on
Tag-team mopes.
When the book is written
Save a page for me;
It always started off
“Agree to disagree”.
Then another awkward social distance
Settled physically.
Subtle like napalm
Applied liberally.
Home of the brave
And those who believe in
The occasional need for a public beatin’…
The judges disputses
Some questionable moveses
The audience approveses
Nobody loses !
Glorious fame
Victorious grapplers
World class dames
Spectacular fractures.
Gonna solve all my daily issues
The way my heroes did
The way we always hoped
Back when we were kids…
Let thy neighbor love you back
From a hospital bed-,
Lead with your face instead.
Ain’t just some Dixie I whistle
I’ve had my face in places
You wouldn’t visit with a pistol…

Spread the news
The boys are back in town
Gonna get rite back to my stomping grounds.
Ring the bell
Wanna hear that sound
Gotta get rite back to my stomping grounds

Maybe you should call it ‘Familiar Grounds’ instead? Some of my favorite moments from ‘Relentless’ SM #wawazat

I dig the imagery…’it’s ‘subtle like napalm’
‘Ain’t just some Dixie I whistle
I’ve had my face in places
    You wouldn’t visit with a pistol…’
Shouldn’t you be handing down these nuggets of urban wisdom, from…say a mountain top in Nepal, or something?

I seem to remember DiamondDave saying he “borrowed” some of his stage moves from “Jimmy Fly Snooka”?? I used to watch him. I think it was on the old South Georgia wrestling circuit before it got bought out by Turner Broadcasting. There used to be more “regional circuits” of wrestling outfits than you see now. George “The Animal” Steele passed away just this last Sunday I think. He was a big fixture in the ’70–’80s time span. World just keeps on turning, eh??
